How to use IEEE 1394 CardBus adapters

These cards are supported by Linux like 1394 PCI cards, with a few exceptions depending on the host machine and kernel. See a short guide at linux1394.org or at this site.

You may need patches for some systems:

The 3.2.4 patches may also apply to newer pcmcia-cs releases, just try it.

The stub driver updates and pcmcia-cs patch were written by Jonathan Buzzard.

Do not ask David Hinds for adoption of the patch. It is not ready for inclusion into the pcmcia-cs distribution. BTW, I did not test the pcilynx_cb driver, nor did I look into kernel 2.5.
